Weather:

December is the winter month in New Delhi with temperature ranging between maximum temperature about 23.1 ℃ and average minimum temperature about 08.3 ℃ during the month of December. Mornings are cooler with intermittent foggy days..  The sunshine duration is around 10 hours and 20 minutes. Fog is the most significant weather as an average of 14.8 days in the month of December witnesses some fog event. Rainfall is very rare with around 0.9 day and 09.4mm during the month of December.

Electricity Supply:

In India, standard voltage and frequency is 230V & 50Hz. The three pin plug has three round pins in a triangular pattern in general and earth terminal slightly thicker/larger at certain places. It is advisable to bring plug adapters and voltage converters needed for your electronics.

Airport:

Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi (DEL) serves as the primary civilian airport of New Delhi. There are three terminals in Delhi Airport. All international and some domestic flights operate from Terminal 3 (T3). Terminal 2 (T2) and Terminal 1 (T1) facilitate domestic flight only. The Airport is about 20 km from the conference venue.

There will a Help Desk at the arrival of Terminal-3 from the Local Organizing Committee. Contact and other details of the Help Desk will be updated on the website in the due course.

Currency exchange:

The Indian Rupee is the currency of India. There are currency exchange counters between immigration and customs area in the arrival section of Terminal 3 of the India Gandhi International Airport (Delhi Airport) operated by banks and financial institutions. Railway Stations:

New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) is the nearest major railway station connecting many part of the country to the city is at about 4.5 kms from the conference venue. Other major railway stations are Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station (NZM) is at about 6 kms, Delhi junction (DLI) at 10 kms, Delhi Cantt Railway Station (DEC) at 13kms and Anand Vihar Terminal (ANVT) is at about 15kms from the conference venue.

Accommodation and Local Travel in Delhi (IMD sponsored participants):

Accommodation and local travel to the sponsored participants will be provided by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC). Sponsored participants shall communicate their itinerary including their mode of travel (including flight number and terminal), date and time of arrival & departure to LOC Committee in advance. Clarification and assistance on accommodation and transport may be sought to LOC.

Local Travel in Delhi:

Participants who are not being sponsored by IMD, travelling on their own can avail the services from the formal taxi stands at the airport arrival. Some of the operators are Meru Cabs, Mega Cabs, Easy Cabs, Radio Taxi and pre-paid taxi operated by Delhi traffic police.

Vehicles on hire via smart phone apps and payments in cash and UPI are in prevalence. Among others, Uber, OLA and BLUSmart major taxi service providers through mobile apps in the city.

Delhi has a very robust network of Metro Trains and they are working as the primary medium of public transportation. Most of the places in the city are accessible via Metro trains. The tickets may be purchased at the Metro Stations or from the metro website digital payments.

The nearest Metro station for the venue of the Training event, i.e; Satellite Meteorological Building, Mausam Bhawan Complex, is Jor Bag Metro Station (Yellow Line) at about 01km from the training venue.

The nearest metro station to the conference (scientific plenary sessions) venue, i.e; Vigyan Bhawan, is Udyog Bhawan Metro Station (Yellow Line) at about 01 km from the venue. One can walk from Udyog Bhawan Metro Station to and fro from the Vigyan Bhawan. The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) busses (bus number 166, 156, 181, 408 410, 47A, 580, 930, 181A) may be used to commute from Udyog Bhawan Metro Station to Vigyan Bhawan. Alternate metro near to the venue: Khan Market Metro Station (Violet line) at 01.6 km.

Busses are the other major public transportation medium in New Delhi. Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is a public transport carrier operating busses on almost every major roads of the city.
